Let's Get This Straight

Okay. Let's get this straight. I don't believe that George (to whatever extent he's relevant), or Dick and Condi, ever believed that Iraq posed any kind of threat to anyone. Straight up: I think they were lying: in your face lying. Even in the best case, it would take an idiot to act on the half-hearted "information" on which they purported to act: aluminum tubes, crudely forged receipts, the testimony of Ahmad Chalabi. Plenty of people were absolutely sceptical (not, of course, John Kerry or John Edwards).

Condi: you're a liar. you're a fucking liar. And you lie in order to justify killing. Look in the mirror, bitch, and see the monster staring back at you.

Ted Stevens - the senior Republican senator today - said something like: "accuse the pres of lying? Have you no respect?" Well, for God's sake just some obvious examples: Clinton, Nixon, Johnson. Don't be a fucking idiot Ted, just because you're a patriot.

But let's say that they were absolutely sincere. They believed the intelligence they were manufacturing, the "evidence" of which they demanded fabrication. But even if they did, they could not possibly believe that Iraq was the greatest threat to world peace, or with regard to WMDs, or with regard to connections to terrorism.

North Korea at that moment was boasting of nuclear weapons. They certainly have chemical weapons and a bio program. Their human rights record makes Saddam look like a humanitarian. Think for a moment about the orientation of Pakistan in 2001, and its armaments. And they were peddling nuclear weapons programs to any two-bit dictotor with some cash. Or Saudi Arabia. Etc etc etc.

Given their behavior with regard to all these other situations, the idea that they attacked Iraq because they believed that it was a "gathering threat" or a front on thw war on terror is straight-up laughable. It's demonstrably ridiculous.

The attack on Iraq was completely arbitrary, but it was a chance to give America an easy victory (hahaha) and avenge past wrongs. They used 9.11 as a sheer excuse to kill their enemies.

Now they're where Johnson was circa 1968: trapped in the lies, the death, the sheer fucking greed and stupidity. Have fun, y'all.
